On Wednesday, December 20, the Krashna choir will perform a Christmas concert in the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft. Pieces from various periods in music history are performed under the direction of Ruben de Grauw. Moreover, the Krashnese have not been idle: work composed by the members of the music company has also been included in the program!

Christmas music through the ages

The concert focuses on “Christmas music through the ages”. The repertoire consists of songs from different periods in music history: pieces from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque, Romanticism and modern pieces are sung. This concerns, for example, work by Hildegard von Bingen, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn. A creative element is also used in this concert: Krashna's members were given the opportunity to compose Christmas music themselves! The “Ave Maria” by Maarten Lubbers and the Irish-language “Scél lem dúib” by Tijs Hol were selected from the entries.
