Final concert PrAK tour

7-7-2024, 16:00

Krashna's final concert is on July 7: with this we not only close this beautiful Krashna year, but also our tour to Krakow and Prague! For that reason, Krashna has been working hard on Polish and Czech repertoire. We will also perform in the Amsterdam Zuiderkerk under the direction of Ruben de Grauw and Stijn Berkouwer on July 7. The fantastic Renaissance architecture fits well with the symbolic journey that Krashna wants to perform during this concert.

Repertoire

The sometimes festive, sometimes dramatic, but also mythical repertoire offers the listener the opportunity to relive Krashna's journey from Amsterdam. The program varies widely in popularity. Vlatva is Smetena's indispensable classic that provides a musical translation of the river that flows through the major Czech cities. Joseph Haydn, one of the most celebrated composers in Europe, composed the triumphal piece Te Deum. Thanks to the unison lines in the choir and the opening in the key of C major, it takes on a very festive tone. On the other hand, Krashna has looked for lesser-known pieces to broaden the listener's musical horizons. Lady Godiva by Vítězslav Novák, Bianca da Molena by Mieczysław Karłowicz and Mona Lisa Gioconda by Ludomir Różycki are all narrative orchestral pieces that transport the listener to other countries and times. The Mass Missa Sancti Josephi creates special dynamics with soloist quartets and baroque fugues, making it difficult to believe that Josef Elsner is unknown outside Poland.

Zuiderkerk

The Amsterdam Zuiderkerk was built in the Dutch Renaissance style at the beginning of the fifteenth century. The historic church was originally a Protestant church, but now serves as a décor for various events. The fantastic architecture makes the church ideal for the conclusion of our tour.
